No Need to Sacrifice When Dieting!
Really…there’s absolutely no reason to sacrifice anything when you are dieting and wanting to get in shape. So many people view dieting as some sort of punishment for not having the perfect body. They believe that enjoying food is somehow bad for them, which couldn’t be further from the truth. If you want to be completely honest with yourself, when it comes to dieting, it isn’t about giving up food or flavor; it’s about discovering new foods and new flavors. Just make it an adventure.
There are tons of spices out there that can make even the blandest of foods a little exciting. Experimenting is what it’s all about. Fish and chicken are popular diet foods because they are lean meats. And usually they both have a certain stigma about them for being bland. After all when dieting, you should pass on the heavy cream sauces, etc… However, adding a little seasoning is a great way to put a little spice in your meal that will make it taste great without the calories of dressings, marinades or even butter.
There are so many seasonings that will work well and it’s fun experimenting. Many great seasonings for chicken will make the chicken taste delicious in salads for healthier lunches or salad wraps. Simple things that spice up the same old meal can have a huge impact on your enjoyment of food.
You can even enjoy the occasional treat when dieting as long as you do so sparingly. The key when dieting is to learn about proper portions and moderate indulgence. You can find all kinds of low sugar or low carb desserts on the market that you can enjoy on occasion. You can also find sugar free or low calorie candy, although you should keep in mind that calories, particularly when it comes to candy that you eat without really thinking about it, add up quickly.
The point is that you do not have to sacrifice flavor in order to diet. Seasonings are a great way to add a lot of flavor with a tiny bit of effort on your part. Desserts are also great and you can find many dips and sauces that can be made with fat free or low fat mayonnaise or sour cream in order to cut a few more calories during your dieting process.
Low fat dips and sauces can make a great snack, when paired with vegetables (replacing chips!). Cucumbers, green, red, and yellow peppers, broccoli, and carrot sticks all have a nice little crunch to them and when combined with a good low fat dip can help cure the cravings for those greasy chips that often surface when dieting.
Also, if you watch your calories carefully during meals you should know that there are many little snack treats that are prepackaged in 100 calorie packs for your enjoyment. (I love these!) This means that you can indulge on occasion in those treats that you love most without sacrificing all your dieting efforts in the process. I think these snack packs have become one of the best ideas since the invention of diet colas.
We all want the benefits of losing weight and will readily admit that if it were a simple process we’d all be thin. Dieting is simple… It’s simply changing your eating habits and adjusting your lifestyle…for the better! There’s really no need to sacrifice anything, including flavor!

You are totally correct. Dieting is not about sacrificing the foods that we love to eat… Some may even actually do not eat. That is no longer a diet its suicide… Dieting is merely choosing the right foods for our body needs.
Hi
I think your post is inspirational for anyone on a diet or considering one. The points you have made are absolutely correct.
Eating healthier can be as enjoyable as not but the rewards are far greater. You lose excess weight and feel better inside!
Thank you!

this is the first time i heard weight loss without dieting really very glad to be here and be a part of your blog discussion.i got tremendous tips and advise from your side plus from commentators really great blog.well done.
Along with healthy dieting comes healthy amounts of exercise of course. Be wary of any diet that says you can lose weight quickly without exercising. Even with cardio workouts and weight lifting, it is unhealthy to lose weight too fast.
We just need to sacrifice the unhealthy food and replace them with healthier ones. It is a fact that if you replaced a 20oz bottle of cola soda with water, you could lose up to 50 pounds in one year. Replacing coffee with green tea is very effective in making the skin healthier.
Substituting unhealthy food is a major step for healthy body and mind.
Hey even I have some tips to contribute for weight loss. Try this the next time you get the munchies: Drink a glass or two of water, and then wait ten minutes. If you’re still hungry, have a modest snack. But if you find that your hunger has vanished, congratulations! You saved calories by taking care of your thirst, which can sometimes feel like hunger.
Great tip Sam!! Thanks!!
Drinking water ice cold burns about 62 calories a day. Your body has to work to raise that waters temperature to your body’s temperature. This equals around 430 calories per week.
Hi Scott…hmmm, I’ve never heard this…about drinking ice cold water. Thanks!
I simply do not understand the need for any sacrifice when going on a fad diet. I feel that people view dieting as some sort of cosmic punishment for not having the perfect body. They believe that enjoying food is somehow bad for them, which couldn’t be further from the truth. If you want to be completely honest with yourself, when it comes to dieting, it isn’t about giving up food or flavor; it’s about discovering a new way to keep your body healthy and fit.

When I started dieting I did change the way I eat but there are times I still ate my favorite fating food. You just have to balance it out and also exercise.
Great article. Even I am believer of this that you must not skip meals if dieting too. If you want to lose weight reduce fat and carbohydrates, but never skip protein! This way you make it to the next meal without snacking in between and your body is not reducing lean tissue mass.
To be successful with your weight management change your approach to dieting and concentrate on your optimal weight instead of losing weight. Have a goal with a clear target weight. Picture yourself with this weight using emotions of satisfaction and joy.
Many people are hungry all the time because they put too many empty calories out of sugar and fat into their body. They are starved for nutrients. The body signalizes this lack with cravings. By ignoring this natural process and keeping up with poor food choices the natural responses of the body are chronic fatigue and literally dis-ease. So, next time when you feel those carvings better have a check with your diet plans first. And never ever miss the meals.
Great Thanks for the tips. It all sounds so easy when you explain it.
Very insightful article, I really enjoyed reading it.Losing weight can sometimes be a very difficult task, requiring a large amount of energy and a lot of motivation.
